The Wanted will be an expansion franchise of the Frontier League. The Wanted baseball team will compete in Jefferson City and meet the stadium requirements of the Frontier League. Minimum requirements include permanent seating, locker rooms, adequate lighting, suitable scoreboard, and an all synthetic playing surface.
Players are obtained in a variety of manners. The Frontier League will host tryouts each year where each team must draft two players at a minimum. Teams are also able to sign free agents as well as host their own local tryouts. Players are restricted by age, can be no older than 30, and with a maximum of 24 players. The total annual budget allowed for Frontier League teams to pay all of their players is $75,000. To view how Frontier League players are obtained and contracted, visit www.frontierleague.com. Our players will be actively involved with our youth education and player development as well as be involved with the rest of the community.
The facility will provide families and entertainment seekers with a clean, first class entertainment option in the evenings. The Frontier League is the optimal organization to be a part of due to its stability over the past two decades. When the team is traveling or in the off season, we will have the option of hosting local high school baseball, a collegiate summer baseball team, or hosting premier high school baseball tournaments throughout the summer. We would also seek to partner with a college or university interested in the facility.
Seating for games that will be available for fans to purchase will range from lawn seats to box seats. Concession food and drinks will be available, as well as souvenirs, and programs. Lawn seating can be an ideal location to sit for a family with younger children which enables the children to move around more freely while the parents can still enjoy the game at a very affordable price. The next seating option would be a more traditional fold down seat found behind home plate or along the first and third base lines. Finally the top tier seating option would be all inclusive box seats & suites for the fans that are looking to enjoy a full night out with friends or coworkers at the ballpark with food and drinks, this would be an ideal option for them.
Our concept is to bring entertainment at a fair price to families and entertainment seekers. Independent league baseball is a growing industry; with ticket prices for MLB games skyrocketing, it is expensive to take a family to a MLB game. Because of this, Independent league game attendances have been rising, providing a more affordable experience for families. In the Central Missouri region, which boasts a permanent population of over 500,000 residents, there's currently limited options for evening entertainment for residents and visitors. An evening entertainment complex such as this would be ideally placed in Jefferson City, Missouri, just off of Highway 50 or Highway 54.
